Throughout my career path anytime a company offered additional training I was always glad to participate because I knew it would benefit me and my company financially. That has truly stuck with me years later in my real estate career. Hi, I’m Dana Weyl with Coldwell Banker select, Owasso Homes and lifestyle group. I currently have 2 real estate designations the Certified Residential Specialist and Master Certified Negotiation Expert and am working on several more at the moment. Less than 1% of agents in the United States have obtained these designations. I know that acronyms don’t mean much to most people but they do say a lot about the type of person you are hiring. For instance, you can hire an accountant to do your taxes or business accounting but when you choose a Certified Public Accountant or CPA you are selecting the industry’s most knowledgeable accountant. That specific accreditation requires them to stay current in all accounting related regulations, advances and so on. It also requires annual training courses to maintain the certification. The same is true for most designations. They are specifically created to assist someone in becoming an expert in their field and the same is also true for real estate agents. All realtors are required to take continuing education every 3 years in Oklahoma to maintain their license. But that information is the basic that is required. To be the best and the most knowledgeable in our field, its important to go above and beyond.
